After 2 weeks at planning unit, i was transferred to construction and services unit. I have to report duty to En. Mohmad bin Saikon, Jurutera Kanan Pembinaan dan Servis. But firstly, i was a little bit confuse either i have to go straight to the office at Wisma TNB or off to the yard at Kempas. But i decided to go to yard since they have morning assembly every monday and for sure En. Mohmad bin Saikon was there. But, as i arrived, En. Mohmad bin Saikon is off duty. So, i report duty to Hj. Kamim. During their assembly, i need to introduce myself infront all the staff there.. it was quite awkward since I'm the only woman there except for the cleaner lady O_o

All the staff there is very friendly and kind..and joker too! They asked me questions like what course i'm taking ( maybe i talked too fast just now T_T) , how many siblings, where do i live and so on..

After all the chit-chatting and breakfast (we had twice breakfast.ngee :p) i was instructed to follow En. Ershadi. They have a shut down project between P/E MEI SHUN FANG and S/S TEE YEE JIA to change the cable to other side of the road.

cable tracing set - to detect the frequency from the underground cable. As i learned in class, Malaysia used 50hz so we have to set this device with higher frequency such as 82hz.

50hz-to detect ht & lv cable without inject the signal to cable

82KHz - for live tracing ( shutdown circuit is not required)

lastly 815HZ - for dead tracing (shutdown circuit is required )

cable tracing set have two component :

transmitter : to inject frequency signal

reciever : the one look like hockey stick.

this is Cable Identification Transmitter, to identify the cable so that we don't 'spike' for wrong cable.




















En. Rahisidi do the connection between the device and the cable and they have to communicate with worker from the other side to let them know. Handphone is quite important :)

En Rashidi and En. Azhar teached me a lot. Steps to do a shut down and show me the equipment that they use as you can see. They also show me the resistance connected to swicth gear to check the cable from the other side ( above photos )

We finished the job around 7 pm and luckily after that it is raining :)
